Description
After the loss of a loved one, or when anticipating a loss, we can experience negative body sensations, strong emotions and stress. To learn to better cope, join Hospice By The Bay’s support group, Integrative Restoration (iRest©) for Grief. The iRest training, http://www.irest.us, is a non-movement-based meditation that invites deep relaxation and self-inquiry. Benefits include relief from anxiety and stress, help with sleep issues, healing of unresolved traumas, and a sense of peace. The group facilitator is Cam McKinley, an interfaith minister, grief counselor and iRest practitioner. Co-facilitator Mary Lou Swift is a clinical social worker and iRest® practitioner. The group is open to anyone who is coping with a loss, or caring for a terminally ill loved one. To register or for information about all of Hospice By The Bay’s support groups, individual counseling and other healing activities for all ages, call (415) 526-5699, or visit http://www.hbtb.org. The fee for one group series is waived for family members of patients who received Hospice By The Bay’s care. Donations are gratefully accepted. For other community members, this eight-week group is $175, which includes a workbook and practice CD.
