Le Colonial San Francisco to Celebrate the Lunar New Year, the Year of the Dragon

Le Colonial in San Francisco will be celebrating the Lunar New Year, this year the Year of the Dragon, with a la carte dinner menu specials offered from Monday, January 23 through Thursday, January 26, 5:30 to 10:00 p.m. (11:00 p.m. on Thursday). In addition, guests dining on Monday will each receive a traditional red envelope containing either a wish for the new year or, for 25 lucky winners, a complimentary flourless chocolate cake dessert. During the celebration, the restaurant’s regular a la carte menu will also be served and the dining room will be decorated in the spirit of the occasion.

Menu specials will include an appetizer of Banh Tet Chien (pan-fried slice of Banh Tet served with daikon and pickled shallots/$12.00); entrees of Toan Bo Ca (whole fried New Zealand Thai Snapper with lemongrass, sliced garlic, young ginger and chiles/$33.00) and Ga Kho (Vietnamese chicken thighs simmered in caramel sauce with ginger/$22.00); and for dessert, Che Chuoi Chung (Vietnamese coconut banana tapioca pudding/$6.00).
