LB Steak in San Jose will host a Kentucky Derby Kick Off event all day on Friday, May 4 and Saturday, May 5. In addition to the regular menu, a la carte specials in the spirit of the occasion will be offered. These will include Mint Juleps, Sweet Iced Tea, Cheese and Garlic Grits (yellow corn grits with roasted garlic, Gruyere cheese and mascarpone cheese), Hot Brown Sandwich (hot open faced turkey sandwich with roasted tomatoes, sautéed mushrooms, Parmesan Mornay sauce and crisp bacon), and Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie. There will also be roses and horse-themed derby décor in the bar area and staff will be wearing festive attire such as big brimmed hats and jockey smocks.
