Like-mindedness in music is as important as the music itself.
A Los Angeles gem has finally found its way north and has sought out Public Works to begin sowing seeds of quality curating of music and performance beyond it’s Angeleno territory. VOODOO has been changing the plagued nightlife paradigm of Los Angeles for two solid years, taking risks and never compromising the most important and primary reasons for it’s inception, integrity and community.
This is where like- minded forces collided. Eduardo Castillo of VOODOO felt there would be no better place to call home in San Francisco than Public Works. One visit and he immediately understood our mission and identified with it instantly.
We are very excited to join forces with VOODOO and put together a night of serious musical vision with a line-up of artists known for their sophistication and integrity.
We’ve been waiting for the right moment to bring Layo and Bushwacka to Public Works and we feel the timing could not have been better than now with VOODOO’s forthcoming visit.
Underground Legends, Layo and Bushwacka (Olmeto Records, UK) drop into Public Works for one of their infamous marathon sets!

A bit about Layo & Bushwacka!
--------------------------
Layo & Bushwacka!’s reputation as two of the world’s foremost DJ duos is rock solid. Three artist albums have proven them remarkably talented producers - capable of mixing styles, tempos and genres to create enduring and engaging electronic music. Their trio of mix albums and international club residencies have shown they are masters of the turntables; sonic connoisseurs who can guide a dancefloor on an epic journey through the many facets of their sound. Their label Olmeto, meanwhile, has become a bastion for quality, a label that, much like its figureheads, has become a stamped seal of class.

A bit about Ripperton
------------------
Ripperton was born in the 70's, one of the most exciting times in music, which would explain his passion for soul music, his 12 inch vinyl collection which knows no bounds and his nickname, (think of one of the best female soul singers of that time).
He gained outstanding popularity with his project Lazy Fat People that was signed to labels like Border Community, Wagon Repair and Carl Craig's Planet E, as well as new successes as a solo artist known as Ripperton.
Aka Ripperton, he's enjoyed working in the studio with fellow Swiss producers, such as Sthlm Audio and Plak Records. He's also released tracks on MusicMan, Green, CLR, Systematic , Liebe Detail, Connaisseur, Caravan, Dessous and many more top labels, and delivered remixes for Ellen
Allien, Jimspter, Laurent Garnier, Beanfield and the exceptional Radiohead. Very popular with artists such as Steve Bug, Carl Craig, James Holden, Apparat, Osunlade, Joris Voorn in their compilations over the last few years.
