The Smith Center Presents! series is proud to bring mezzo-soprano Laurie Rubin to our stage. New York Times chief classical music critic Anthony Tommasini described Ms. Rubin as “a woman who possesses compelling artistry, communicative power, and an earthy, rich, and poignant quality.”
Although blind from birth, Ms. Rubin is a consummate musician and has acquired an extensive repertoire. She has appeared in multiple venues, including the Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and the White House and has performed in operas, as a soloist and in her own musical ensemble.
