Description: This week the San Jose Peace and Justice Center will be screening "A Better Life" a Latin film, which follows the story of Carlos Galindo, an immigrant from Mexico, and his son Luis. Carlos is a gardener and landscaper working as hard as he can in an effort to give his son a better life, the life that he never had. Throughout the movie, the hardships that Luis also has to face are illustrated which includes the mounting pressures of joining a gang.Actor Damian Bichir Nominated for Academy Award
Presentation by Michelle Cordova on the history of Mexican Immigration in the United States
There will be Mexican food at the screening
$5-10 suggested donation for food
