Description
Pre-Registration Required - Registration closes 2/27Families welcome! Children age 8+ with adult chaperone.
Capture nature’s beautiful landscapes with watercolors. Art Specialist Heather Engle will be demonstrating how to control water and pigment levels to explore variations in color and light. Other topics covered include: painting techniques such as shading and the elements of landscape painting.
Participants please bring watercolor paper, a painting surface (easel, clipboard, or sturdy piece of cardboard), water container, and masking tape. Bring your own watercolor pigments (minimum of red, yellow, blue, black, and brown) so you get comfortable with your own materials. You’ll likely want to work more when you get home!
We will be working outdoors weather permitting. Prepare accordingly with hat, sunscreen, and water bottle. We do have basic watercolor pigments & brushes available if needed.
About the instructor: Heather Engle holds a degree in Studio Art and specializes in landscape and expressionistic painting. She enjoys teaching all skill levels and abilities, and has been doing so for over 15 years, giving instruction in painting, sculpture, mosaics, and art history.
This program takes place at the Guadalupe River Park Conservancy Visitor & Education Center, 438 Coleman Ave., San Jose.
