Description

A contemporary experience of Kathak dance, Hindustani music, poetry, and storytelling, performed to original music created and recorded by Ben Kunin, Wallace Harvey, and Tim Witter.
Lamps on Lilypads is Jaysi's (the performer) personal call for peace on the planet. She first created this piece a decade ago when US was considering invading Iraq. Now that the US is supporting the Israeli war on Gaza, she continues to dance this piece until we have peace in the world.
Join her on the occasion of Diwali as she says her prayers with her body, voice, and heart through dance, music, story, poetry, and song.
There will be a post performance discussion about how we can make peace more probable. Your ideas, intentions, and energy are vital and most welcome.
