Description

America is at a crossroads. This country's lower and middle classes flounder in a sea of debt, whilst Fortune 500 CEOs pilot their luxury yachts into a new gilded age. Buoyed by obscene paychecks, they sock away grotesque sums in offshore accounts, far away from government agencies seeking tax dollars to fund health programs, build schools and repair crumbling infrastructure. Enter Ryan Carrington. On May 6, the performance artist will physically transform thousands of pounds of concrete into a huge wall--all while wearing a designer suit. The act is meant to embody the contemporary class war in a moment of spontaneous creation. (MH)
