An eclectic night of Latin alternative bands and DJs, free and open to the public La Otra Puerta will feature live performances by Volumen Cero, The May Fire, Chana all presenting brand new material, as well as DJs Oro11 and EKG spinning global Latin music in the intimate setting of 111 Minna Gallery in the SOMA district of San Francisco.Latin Grammy-nominated rockers Volumen Cero, on their first Bay Area show of 2008. One of the biggest bilingual Latin rock acts of the past decade.
Local faves The May Fire are edgy and accessible, often channeling idols such as David Bowie, White Stripes and The Pixies.
Brace yourself for Chana (Rosanna Tavarez), one of the most buzzed-about, emerging Latin singers this year. A cross of Gwen Stefani and Bebe. Attitude, looks, depth, bilingual, Chana is all in one.
DJ Oro11 of Bersa Discos/Tormenta Tropical parties will spin cumbia, urban beats, while DJ EKG will mix eletropop, new wave and more!
