National Hispanic University will honor Antonio R. Villaraigosa, the 41st Mayor of Los Angeles with an honorary degree, Doctor of Humane Letters, during its 30th anniversary celebration event.NHU was founded in 1981 as a nurturing learning environment for Hispanics and other underrepresented groups, and honors the work that Villaraigosa has done during his time as an Assemblyman and Assembly Speaker advocating for the importance of education, healthcare and civil rights.
Villaraigosa will address students, faculty, and members of the community as the keynote speaker, after which a Q&A session and lunch will follow.
