Description
Performers: Faculty member Alissa Walters Deeter, soprano; student Chris Evans, tenor; and guest artists Deborah Benedict-Jackson, mezzo-soprano, and Charles Worth, piano.Based on the Latin American myth, “La Llorona” centers on a young woman who falls in love with a handsome suitor. The love affair produces children, but the father deceives the mother. Finding herself alone and deserted, in a moment of despair, the young mother drowns her children. When she realizes what she has done, she runs by the water's edge crying for her children.
The School of Music and Dance opens its Concert Music course to the public with engaging recitals featuring student, faculty and guest performances. Enjoy the sounds and sights by solo artists and ensembles in jazz, world, chamber music, strings, choral music, dance and more.
