Description

Wu Tang Clan was such a big deal that even when one of their "affiliates" (not part of the core group) comes to town it's also a big deal. As far as the Wu Tang Affiliates go, Killah Priest contributed some key work in the group's early days. He had some killer verses on '90s solo albums by Ol' Dirty Bastard and GZA. He in fact, rapped over the entire track, "B.I.B.L.E." on GZA's album. The beat is smooth and intimate, to which Killah Priest uses religious allegory to rap about the real issues in the African American community. He continued this style on his 1998 solo album, Heavy Mental through 2013's grandiose the Psychic World of Walter Reed. His flow is uniquely conversational, practically a whisper and he seamlessly strings together ten-cent words in rhythmically interesting ways. (Aaron Carnes)
