Description
Crosspulse and Artistic Director Keith Terry celebrates the release of our first CD for Kids & their Families with a Family Concert/Dance PartyCrosspulse Percussion Ensemble presents I Like Everything About You (Yes I Do!)
Featuring Keith Terry (International Body Music Festival), with Amber Hines (Albino, Mutama), Evie Ladin (Stairwell Sisters, Evie Ladin Band), Omar Ledezma (Venezuelan Music Project, Rumbache) and Tacuma King (SDOUAE).
Part international drill team, part polycultural rhythm section, Crosspulse Percussion Ensemble weaves the oldest musical instrument, the human body, with instrumental webs of hand drums, bells, clavé, bass, banjo, voice, found sound and more. Each of the members bring their own deep traditions of the African Diaspora to collaborate on the many ways African music and dance are a part of cultures throughout the Americas, and here in Oakland, California. After two decades of educational outreach and programming including concerts, workshops, and residencies, Crosspulse Percussion Ensemble has produced their first CD of children's music, an album that the whole family will enjoy! CD recorded with special guests the St Paul School 5th grade choir, Oakland.
