Born and raised in the Motor City, Russell formed the now-classic rock band 707, who scored the rock-radio hits, "I Could Be Good for You" and "Megaforce", and toured arenas throughout the ’80s. Later that decade, Russell joined forces with Billy Kreutzman and Brent Mydland (of the Grateful Dead) to form Kokomo. Russell has shared the stage Joe Walsh, Ringo Starr, Bruce "The Boss", Jackson Brown, Jon Bon Jovi, and Ritchie Sambora, among others.
