Come celebrate the release of Kata-vento’s first EP! Kata-vento, or ‘wind catcher’ in Portuguese, features original music written for three flutes, guitars and percussion. Composer Carlos Oliveira is inspired by the music of his homeland, particularly the northeast of Brazil where he was born. His compositions delve into realms of Jazz, Samba, Maracatu, Choro, and even ‘Cholypso.’ Kata-vento is Carlos Oliveira (Compositions, Guitar and Percussion), Sonia Caltvedt, Rebecca Kleinmann, Chloe Scott (Flutes), Q Morrow (Guitar) and Brian Rice (Percussion).
