Description
American pianist Jonathan Biss has appeared internationally with the foremost orchestras of our time. Widely known not only for his artistry and poetic interpretations but also for his deep musical curiosity, Biss performs a diverse repertoire ranging from Mozart and Beethoven, through the Romantics to Janacek and Schoenberg as well as works by contemporary composers such as Gyorgy Kurtag. He studied with Leon Fleisher at the Curtis Institute of Music, where he joined the faculty in 2010. More info at: http://www.jonathanbiss.com. Mark Padmore was born in London and grew up in Canterbury. After beginning his musical studies on the clarinet, he received a choral scholarship at King’s College, Cambridge and graduated with an honours degree in music. He has established a flourishing career in opera, concert and recital performance. He appears frequently at Wigmore Hall in London and was their Artist in Residence in the 2009/10 Season.
