Guitarist/vocalist John Pizzarelli makes no secret of his musical influences: Nat King Cole, Joao Gilberto, Frank Sinatra, and his own father, jazz guitar legend Bucky Pizzarelli. An unabashed champion of the classic American Songbook standards by Rodgers, Mercer and Gershwin, Pizzarelli is just as likely to dive into a contemporary tune, as he does on Double Exposure, his latest CD, where he spotlights composers of his own generation: Joni Mitchell, Tom Waits, Neil Young and others. Pizzarelli also co-hosts Radio Deluxe with his wife, vocalist Jessica Molaskey, a lively talk program and podcast, featuring interviews and performances with special guest artists.
