Bookshop Santa Cruz welcomes local author John Hofacre in celebration of Santa Cruz’s annual Wharf to Wharf run. John is a member of the Santa Cruz Track Club and a regionally ranked 5-kilometer runner, and has even participated in over 30 Wharf to Wharf runs. Others of you may know John from his Running Joke cartoons that have appeared worldwide on the Runner's World magazine website and locally in the Santa Cruz Sentinel. The Running Joke Cartoon Book contains 52 cartoons that includes everything important in an athlete's life from shoes to medals to course maps to wine barrels to UFO's and much more. Author and artist John Hofacre will be present to discuss his book, the joy of running, participating in running events and the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.
