Touring nationally for a quarter of a century alongside some heavyweight musicians, Joanne Rand is currently completing her thirteenth CD. Writing and playing music since childhood in the Deep South, Rand cut her performance teeth playing bluegrass in Alaska. In the 1990s Rand also lived in Seattle where she helped anchor the city’s thriving music scene and collaborated with her songwriter brother, as he died of AIDS.
