Jimmy Adkins became somebody as the frontman of massive pop-punk band Jimmy Eat World. The angsty, choppy, anthems spoke the woes of turn-of-the-century teens.Their biggest hit, "The Middle," has been the soundtrack for many face-buried-in-the-pillow sob sessions due to inconsiderate lovers and the ravages of peer pressure. But, you don't stay young forever and adolescent mantras sound strange coming out of the mouth of a thirty-something. Instead of white-knuckling his past hits, Adkins has gone acoustic and embraced a more mature sound, presenting his unquestionable talent in its most naked form. Jimmy Eat World posters may no longer dominate the bedrooms of young Americans, but Adkins is here to stay.
