Description

Architecture After Hours
Bldg C, Room C-230 — Jul 25th

Jeanie Fan received her BA in Architecture from the University of California Berkeley in 2003. She has been working in a well-established architecture firm in Emeryville for the last seven years. During the day, she is an architectural designer who participates in every aspect of the profession, from managing projects to coordinating consultants to communicating with clients.

Outside of the office, Jeanie expresses herself through various creative outlets: while the logical designer rests, the imaginative artist steps into role. One of her passions is photography. This exhibit, "Candy Store," is a series of photographs Jeanie took over the last several years that captured the colors of nature and colors in our environment. These prints are not framed in the traditional way that photographs are usually displayed. They are more like "color blocks" -- mounted on 8-inch high x 8-inch wide x 2-inch deep or 8-inch high x 16-inch wide x 2-inch deep art boxes -- the prints are sealed with a layer of resin, and they glisten like jolly rancher candies.
