The Theater Arts Department at UC Santa Cruz is proud to welcome Academy Award-winning author and screenwriter, Jean-Claude Carriere, for a special presentation. Jean-Claude's works include the highly acclaimed The Unbearable Lightness of Being, The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, and Cyrano de Bergerac. He will perform one-and-a-half-hour version of the great Indian epic in a unique one-time only U.S. presentation of one of the greatest stories ever told. Jean Claude Carriere has spent nearly eleven years tracing "Mahabharata's" roots, geography, and relevance in modern India. Free and open to the public.
