Description

Tardeada VI - Jóvenes que bailan
Jóvenes que bailan is a matinee Mexican folklórico dance concert featuring youth ensemble Los Lupeños Juvenil with special guest dance companies Los Mestizos de San José and Xochitl Cultural (Lincoln High School).

Los Lupeños Juvenil was launched in July, 2015. Dancers in this company range from 10 to 15 years old and have the opportunity to explore Mexican folk dance in a professional environment with a special mentoring that prepares them to enter the main Performing Company someday. Los Lupeños Juvenil is directed by Samuel Cortez. http://www.loslupenos.org/ll-juvenil.html

Los Mestizos de San José was founded by Theresa Rodríguez in the summer of 1973. Since then its instructors have taught hundreds of dances to thousands of young dancers. The tradition continues under the direction of Hector González. http://www.losmestizos.net

Xochitl Cultural is the student group from Lincoln High School. Currently directed by Arturo Magaña, they perform at festivals around the bay as well as host their own concerts and invitational. http://www.lincolnperformingarts.com/dance.html
