Interested in studio work, live sound, audio engineering, or are you an artist who wants to learn to record themselves better? Take Women's Audio Mission's Introduction to Audio Production and Recording (Beginner Level).

Women's Audio Mission (WAM) is a San Francisco-based nonprofit that advances women and girls in music production and the recording arts. WAM is the only women-run professional recording studio in the world and a 2012 Best of the Bay winner selected by the San Francisco Bay Guardian. WAM has recorded such notable clients as Kronos Quartet, Salman Rushdie, and The SHE'S.

Intro to Audio Production and Recording

Date/Time: 8 Monday evenings (9/22, 9/29, 10/6, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27, 11/3, 11/10) from 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM
Location: WAM, 1890 Bryant Street, Suite 312, San Francisco, CA 94110

In this 8-class series you will:

-Gain an understanding of the physics and science behind sound and how it affects the recording process
-Learn signal flow and the recording chain
-Learn how microphones work and basic microphone skills
-Learn the basics of digital audio and recording with digital audio workstations like Pro Tools
-How to solder and make your own cables!
