Description
Full of profoundly joyful texts, the Slavic and Byzantine traditions have some of the most moving Advent and Christmas music of any choral repertoire. "Incarnation" will include chants and polyphony spanning over ten centuries, as well as the world premier of "Rose Evergreen," an original work by Yiorgos Vassilandonakis.Conducted by the Josquin Singers' artistic director John Michael Boyer, the program promises to be a sublime experience and a perfect way to bring in the Christmas season.
In BACH, we believe the language of music crosses all barriers. By presenting the musical heritage of various cultures along with Western Classical music through a diverse roster of ensembles, we strengthen, enrich and connect the musical communities of the Bay Area and beyond, exposing various audiences to a wide spectrum of musical genres.
