Union Square art galleries announce collaborative arts event in downtown SF

Over a dozen art galleries along Post and Sutter Streets announce the Summer Art Walk in San Francisco, Saturday, July 17, from 12 noon to 5pm. Participating galleries, open to the public, will exhibit artworks by a compelling selection of distinguished artists in a variety of media that include painting, sculpture and mixed media. Viewers will embark upon an interactive walking experience through Union Square’s vibrant arts community.
The Summer Art Walk is a free, self-guided, and public event meant to inspire the Bay Area public to explore the dynamic arts community offered by the internationally acclaimed galleries of the Union Square district. The event will feature artist talks, performance art, live music, film screenings and other cultural activities throughout the afternoon.
Refreshments and wine will accompany brief presentations and demonstrations by local artists and gallerists. Local businesses will offer coupons and special discounts as part of the Art Walk. Downtown Union Square is easily accessible by MUNI, and parking is available at the Sutter-Stockton garage.
