Description

ICEE HOT IS TURNING TWO! We can’t believe it! In the last two years, we have brought 47 artists to San Francisco; 26 of them had never played in SF before. We have created RAVE RAIN, had some PIZZA, and thrown down some serious edicts about your hula hoop. Most of all, we have listened to some amazing music and shared some incredible moments with you. We love you, ICEE budz.

Our lineup this month is vintage ICEE: Two artists from the UK who have been a staple of ICEE HOT sets since the beginning; Two “firsts” in SF, and two artists that made a HUGE showing in 2011.

ALTERED NATIVES is simply a genius of the deep, dark, and dirty variety. His music sits somewhere in the depths of house and techno where the house is so deep that it’s techno and the techno is so groovy that it’s house. HE HAS THOSE DRUMS that have been putting people in a fever ever since 2009’s "Rass Out" and haven only gotten better with 2011’s 'Tenement Yard Vol. 2' (one of the best things we heard last year). Get ready for the depths on this one. It will be dirty.

MOSCA is the master of everything dance. Starting with his “Square One” release (Night Slugs #1!) and continuing up to his latest gems on Numbers and 3024, Mosca has been making these perfect, moment-defining jams that never cease to stun and inspire. How the hell does "Nike" work anyway? There is this perfect hip-hop part and this perfect jungle break for a second and we swear there are two bars of cumbia in there. Or how did he encapsulate the trans-Atlantic discourse of NY and UK garage so lovingly on the "Bax" / "Done Me Wrong" release for Numbers? Let’s leave those questions for the college professors and just expect the unexpected from Mosca.

As always, we will be there* to lay down the early vibes and be the biggest fans at the party. WE CAN’T wait!
