Description
New year, new you, new skill! This week, NightLife invites you to learn by doing. Bring a can-do attitude and try your hand at interactive how-to workshops.Hopeless in the kitchen? Learn how to make fresh mozzarella from scratch with the pros from Ragazza and how to make tea liqueur with mixologists from Punk Domestic, curated by Skill Exchange.
Plus, get a sweet lesson in urban beekeeping and bee activism from honey guru Terry Oxford of UrbanBeeSF. If technology and textiles are more your thing, test out cutting-edge technologies like Google Glass and 3D printing. Do rapid advances in tech make your head spin? Fear not! Return to the advancements of yesteryear while learning how to use modular synthesizers with I/O Music Technology, or take it way back with letter pressing and bow-tie tying demos.
For the action-inclined, get a lesson on juggling and plate spinning with Circus of Smiles, practice the stealth of a ninja with Ninja Hoops, and step up to a line dancing challenge.
In the East Pavilion, groove to the vinyl selections of Britt Govea of (((folkYEAH!))) and a DJ set by Andy Cabic of local indie-rock band Vetiver.
At the Project Lab, get a lesson on the strange science of taxidermy and get a crash course on plant identification direct from Academy researchers.
21+ Event, ID required for entry.
