A perennial summer highlight, House Special is the fascinating culmination of a two-week, shared residency among three artists curated by ODC Theater Director Christy Bolingbroke. This unduplicated program for carte-blanche dance-making and a one-night only work-in-progress showing offers audiences a rare and candid look into the artistic process.This year ODC Theater’s House Special features not just choreographers David Schleiffers, Anna Sullivan, but also includes the playwright Kim Yaged. Her selection falls in line with the Theater’s mission to be a multi-disciplinary venue and its ongoing commitment to the creative process.
“So many of the artists ODC Theater presents are multi-disciplinary incorporating movement, music, text, and film in their work,” said Bolingbroke. “The three artists selected for this year’s House Special represent some of the range of inventive performance that we embrace. We aim to provide audiences with a fresh perspective, to show how artists jump in from many different angles.”
