Detroit’s Hip-Hop Ambassador to the World, Michael “House Shoes” Buchanan has been an integral part of the long-burgeoning Motown resurgence. Join House Shoes at Amoeba San Francisco for a special DJ set in celebration of his new album Let It Go (out June 19th on Tres records), which will be on sale the day of the in-store...three days before release date!

As a DJ, House Shoes has toured extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe with artists Guilty Simpson, Illa J, Exile, Aloe Blacc, Percee P, Phat Kat, Slum Village, and Elzhi, to name a few, as well as on his own. But he has garnered the respect of acts far outside the scope of Detroit hip-hop. House Shoes also performed as tour DJ on Mayer Hawthorne & The County’s Spring 2010 16-city headlining tour.

As a producer, ‘Shoes has worked with the late and revered J Dilla and Big Proof, Black Milk, Danny Brown, Quelle, Roc Marciano, Chino XL, Invincible, MED, Fowl (2010 RedBull EmSee National Champion), Finale, Big Tone, Marv Won, Torae, Shawn Jackson, Now On (Mayer Hawthorne), Moe Dirdee, among others.

Two self-produced 10” limited vinyl issues have also been released on Do-Over Records, backed by Flying Lotus, and All-City Records, respectively. Most recently he lent his production talents to the Quelle and Crown Nation ep through Fat Beats in 2011, also having beats placed on Quelles Shotgun and Sleek Rifle album late last year.
