Description
Now in its fourth year, the Bay Area Beer Socials Holiday Toy drive, aiding disadvantaged children from San Francisco, is a special event sponsored by a select brewpub in San Francisco. This year Rogue Ales Public House in North Beach is sponsoring this event, and together we've made arrangements with the San Francisco Fire Department for the evening. The San Francisco Firefighter's Toy Program is the city's largest and the nation's oldest program of its kind. Since 1949, it has evolved from a few firefighters repairing broken toys and bikes to over 300 firefighters and friends volunteering their time to distribute over 200,000 toys to more than 40,000 disadvantaged children around the city.
Last year's event was held at Gordon Biersch and everyone had a blast. Rogue is offering a great incentive if you arrive with a unwrapped toy.
Bring an unwrapped toy for a boy or girl (16 and under) and receive a free pint of your favorite beer. The program also includes a selection of appetizers and other goodies.
The Fire Department will be on hand with their Holiday Fire Truck, and barrels and bags to collect the toys.
This is a great way to bring in the holiday spirit by giving to those less fortunate.
