Dear Dystopian’s, this holiday season =DYSTOPIA= brings you a year-end 2012 finale for the Drum and Bass history books. Jungle Santa and Primitive Science are very happy to announce that Dystopia has gone HARD every fourth Friday of the month at Lounge 3411 in Oakland, California. To honor Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and The Dark Arts we have a very special show for ALL of you…We plan to deck the halls with boughs of holly, blaze Yule, rinse Drum & Bass in merry measure, fast away the old year passing and dance joyous altogether…Oh yeah, how can I forget donning gay apparel. ;0)

We encourage ALL of our guests to wear their ugliest sweaters to this event because it will be an “UGLY SWEATER PARTY.” And even if you don’t own an ugly sweater…Be festive and rock a sweater anyways.

KINETIK, a San Francisco native, has been laying down energetic beats that stay true to his moniker for over a decade. Introduced to electronic music in high school by way of local radio shows, he quickly realized that he wanted more than to be on the receiving end of the sound. After attending undergrounds and raves for a few years he began frequenting the weekly and monthly drum and bass events in San Francisco, substituting mix tapes for business cards. Since then he has become a regular face on the drum & bass DJ circuit throughout the bay area and held residencies with Silent, Tech Support, Phuturo, Reflex and currently Shelter. Originally recognized for his harder, techier leanings musically, Kinetik’s repertoire has expanded so as his sets effortlessly traverse numerous spectrums of drum & bass. What’s consistent is a driving groove, smooth transitions and a respect for classics that’s well served by his adherence to playing vinyl.

Whether he’s supporting international talent or headlining local nights, Retox knows how to rock a dancefloor and make the crowd smile. A reliable performer in the Bay Area since 2004, Retox has evolved alongside drum n bass, from the raucous crowds at Love Parade to the main floor at Mighty SF. Each DJ performance is geared to the dancefloor, with Retox championing a blend of smooth liquid vibes with energetic bassbin shakers. No stranger to DJ’ing other dance genres, Retox knows how to keep things interesting and is not afraid to dip into other tempos if the feeling is right.

Since touching-down in San Francisco eight years ago, Retox has held multiple residencies, contributed to some of the most prolific crews, and has supported international drum n bass talent such as Cyantific, Calibre, Rohan, Stunna, Bachelors of Science, Big Bud, Logistics, Concord Dawn, and LTJ Bukem.

A self-proclaimed "Mad Scientist" on the decks, Corrine puts the MIX back into Djing. This East Bay native only DJs her own edits, showing no track any mercy, giving her a no BS style that will always keep you guessing and begging for more. She comes from a classically trained musical background, a punk rock past, and a sick obsession with pop culture, making her DJ sets nothing short of epic. She's opened for such acts as The Faint, Acid Girls, Disco Villains and Harvard Bass and never hesitates to bring the house down wherever she goes. Don't be fooled by the short skirt and fishnets, this girl can geek out with the best of them, having a STAR WARS tattoo which makes her hard to miss, she is "The Rebel With The Treble," and she rocks every party dropping mad science on the dance floor.


BASTIEN (Apex, AST, Thought Society)

Bastien is an east bay based DJ and producer with mad love for all music and severe genre ADHD. Fairly new to the game, he only really began DJing live in 2010, but has made a name and sound for himself over this period. His DJ sets take you for a ride through his deep thoughts could consist of Hip-Hop, Juke, Jungle/DnB, Gltich Hop, Hyphy, R&B/Oldies and so much more. He always makes sure to include some of his own personal tracks, remixes and edits so add extra flava.
