Description
Hilary is a Bay Area native growing up in the East Bay and receiving her BFA in printmaking from CCA. She now lives and works as an artist in San Francisco creating screen prints, paintings and dolls.Hilary is best represented by her colorful screen prints of surreal urban landscapes. From photographic as well as hand drawn and painted stencils she creates intense layered images of our urban surroundings. The photos often originate in San Francisco environments. Along with her many prints, she also works with fabrics, acrylic, and screens to create mixed media paintings. Along with urban themes in some pieces she also brings in the rural, depicting farm animals estranged or at ease in urban landscapes. There is some humor, irony as well as melancholy in these pieces that has always threaded through her work in some way.
