Description

Rare Device is proud to present Hidden Treasures: New Work by Irana Douer.

Douer currently makes her home in Buenos Aires. She is known mostly for her vibrantly colored, geometrically influenced line drawings and paintings of women. Her work -- which ranges from sweet and innocent to gory and frightening -- is always thought provoking. "I'm interested in representing every aspect that influences my life: interests, feelings, situations, thoughts or whatever is causing any kind of effect on me in a particular moment." She is interested in how relationships, particular situations or even ordinary things can affect a woman's life. Her current influence is "anything sinister." Hidden Treasures will explore what's hidden, different and mysterious. It will be Douer's first solo show in the United States.

Douer is a freelance illustrator and creator of the online art magazine Ruby Mag. She has been featured in Juxtapoz Magazine and on numerous art and design blogs.
