If it seems like every other the year the music business decides to re-fixate itself on Woodstock, that's because, well, it does. 2009 marks the 40th anniversary of the celebrated three days of peace and love held in upstate New York, and predictably, the entertainment industry hasn't missed a beat. Multiple re-issue albums of the original concert, plus a major motion picture, are all popping up on cue, as is the Heroes of Woodstock tour. Headliners include Jefferson Starship, led by the imitable Paul Kantner, along with Big Brother & The Holding Company, Canned Heat, and Country Joe McDonald. Perhaps one of the greatest blues-rock acts of the era, Ten Years After, also performs, though without original guitarist/band leader Alvin Lee.
