Description

With every decades-encompassing performance, Herb Alpert brings multiple lifetimes of experiences to the bandstand. Founder and leader of the Tijauna Brass and a veteran producer, the famed trumpeter is the only artist to boast number vocal and instrumental singles: "This Guy's in Love with You" and "Rise."

The "A" in A&M Records, Alpert's Tijuana Brass once outsold The Beatles two-to-one. They also boasted a historic four albums in the Top 10-and five in the Top 20-simultaneously. Under Alpert and Ron Moss' watch, A&M released historic albums by the likes of Quincy Jones, Joan Baez and the Carpenters as well as ones by guitarist Wes Montgomery and alto saxophonist Paul Desmond.

The lead singer of Sergio Mendes' Brasil '66, Lani Hall toured internationally with those global music pioneers before meeting Alpert in 1966, when the group signed with A&M. The pair married in 1973 and began touring together in 2006. She is a two-time Grammy winner, while he the owner of nine of those miniature gold gramophones.

Alpert & Hall appear at Summer Fest along with a three-piece rhythm section for a careers-spanning show that revisits the accomplishments of these two legends.
