Helen Sung is a prize-winning classical pianist who turned over to jazz after experiencing a Tommy Flanagan solo. This Houston native graduated from the acclaimed Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Performance and has since gone on to win the Kennedy Center’s Mary Lou Williams Jazz Piano Competition. Now, Kuumbwa Jazz Center hosts an intimate concert with Helen Sung as she dazzles audiences with her funky and improvisational style with her delicate and and intricate classical technique.
