Description
In the world of an increasing inequality between the rich and the poor, there is ample evidence that women and girls are disproportionately represented among the poor. In developing countries, women are responsible for 60% of the food production, and yet their voices are not often heard in their community's decision making. This program will delve deeper into Heifer's work promoting gender equity as not only a social justice issue but also a practical tool of sustainable development. All hands on activities, classroom presentations, meals and lodging at the Hidden Villa Hostel are included. Course is from March 15 through March 18. What is Heifer U? Heifer U is a three night program that offers a blend of hands-on activities and discussions to make for a rich educational experience dealing with a variety of issues/topics related to Heifer’s work. -- from hiddenvilla.orgRegister online at: http://www.heifer.org/getinvolved/heifer-u
