Award-winning Korean pianist Heejae Kim, who has been called “a pianist of passion and sensitivity,” will be the featured artist in the third concert of Steinway Society – The Bay Area’s 25th Anniversary Season. The concert will be held November 17, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. at Independence High School in San Jose. A pre-concert talk starts at 1:45 p.m. The artist will be available to meet the audience following the concert.Ms. Kim made her debut at the Prodigy Concert Series of South Korea’s Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation, and has since concertized in Europe (including Brussels, Leipzig, Paris, and Barcelona), the UK, South Africa, as well as her native South Korea. She has won awards in ten national or international piano competitions. In 2015, she won the Terence Judd—Halle Orchestra Prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition, where her performance of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 made her the audience favorite.
