The original San Jose Mumlers crew always showed off their range by switching between different instruments nearly every song. We're talking horn to bass to keyboards and so on. But even if Will Sprout is the only current member of the Mumlers, that doesn't mean that the rest of them have stopped playing music. Felix has Heavy Mello, an awkwardly brilliant homemade acoustic electronic project, and James has Plantain, a band with an almost Mumlers-like rootsy swagger, but with a bit more of a peculiar Daniel Johnston style.
