Description
In this "Jewish Christmas story," a young Israeli woman and a young American man find themselves together, in the same Virginia motel room under "bizarre circumstances." Ayelet can barely speak English and her companion, Terrence, is a bit of a bumbler when it comes to the fairer sex. This bilingual romantic comedy, which the New York Times called "hilarious and heartwarming," offers audiences a break from well-worn holiday productions. Written by Jason Odell Williams, an Emmy Award-nominated writer, the play has been optioned for a movie. The first night of the play is "pay what you can night." (NV)City Lights Theater Company presents the Bay Area premiere of "Handle with Care" by Jason Ordell Williams, with Hebrew by Charlotte Cohn.
Magic can happen anywhere--can’t it? In this comedy about love, nostalgia, cross-cultural communication, and the importance of GPS tracking devices, a young Israeli woman with little command of English and a young American man with little command of romance are brought together on Christmas Eve under the most bizarre circumstances. In the tradition of 201's "Coney Island Christmas", City Lights offers up this delightful holiday romance.
