Hammer Theatre Center presents the National Theatre Live screening of the multi-award-winning drama "The Madness of George III." Written by beloved British playwright Alan Bennett ("The History Boys," "The Lady in the Van"), "The Madness of George III" features Olivier Award-winners Mark Gatiss ("Sherlock," "Wolf Hall," "National Theatre Live’s Coriolanus") and Adrian Scarborough ("Gavin and Stacey," "Upstairs Downstairs," "After the Dance") in the portrayal of King George III, the most powerful man of his time. With the King’s behaviour becoming increasingly erratic as he succumbs to fits of lunacy, ambitious politicians and the scheming Prince of Wales threaten to undermine the power of the Crown and expose the fine line between a King and a man. The production was named as a theatre highlight of 2018 by "BBC News," "Daily Mail," and "The Nottingham Post."

Audiences will be viewing a high-definition screening of an encore performance of the acclaimed stage production captured live at the Nottingham Playhouse.
