Guitarfest with Rick Vandivier and Hristo Vitchev. Thursday September 3, at the Theatre on San Pedro Square.Rick Vandivier’s performances are daring, soulful, and evocative. Rick has been performing and recording in the San Francisco Bay Area for the last 25 years.
The new Vandivier CD is a compilation of pieces that defines Rick’s ongoing journey of weaving together Jazz, Blues and all kinds of crossovers we call “The Rick Thing”.
Joining Rick will be Dan Robbins on bass and Paul Van Waggeningen on drums.
Hristro Vitchev began his musical journey at the age of 12. He has performed with some of the premier musicians in the region. He has toured both nationally and internationally and has written more the 200 original compositions.
In 2009 Hristro Vitchev recorded “Song for Messambria”, the debut album of his quartet. The CD presents a unique blend of moden jazz, classical and Brazilian sounds.
Tickets are $10 for San Jose Jazz Members or $12 at the door.
