Incline Gallery is proud to present the first installment of Greatest Hits, a series of exhibitions highlighting Incline Gallery’s favorite contemporary artists. Greatest Hits, Volume I features works by Gideon Chase, Matt Gonzalez, and Evan Holm artists whose work is formally excellent, informed, and conceptually driven.Gideon Chase expands upon art historical references creating fantastically bizarre scenes with masterful paint handling and impressive surface quality.
Matt Gonzalez gives us collage, assemblage and construct using everyday detritus. Gonzalez transforms this debris into beautiful, painstakingly constructed and formally excellent works of art.
Evan Holm is best known for his sound installations but his works on plaster celebrate the obsolete with delicate line work and an eye toward “a time when all tracings of human culture will dissolve.”
