Description
Grayceon is an atypical three-piece from San Francisco comprised of electric cello, guitar, drums, and vocals. Pulling together an extremely diverse range of musical influences and writing styles, Grayceon's sound defies the boundaries of the metal/rock/progressive genres. Screaming melodic lines over distinct guitar "chunk," doom riffs, jazz chord progressions, intricate folk-like delicacies, and just about everything in between can be found in a single Grayceon track. The cello proficiency and the guitar finger picking style alone are unprecedented in heavy music. And although the vocals are sparse and the drumming unconventional, all elements are intertwined effortlessly to give the arrangements a fluid feel that may not be present in less able hands. Alternate low tuning both on cello and guitar also contribute to their unique sound.Juice and Hoz began their friendship in 1996 in the alleys off campus of Stadium High School in Tacoma, WA. They began writing music together in the spring of 2004 and quickly jumped into live performance and regular touring. Through the help of good friends and friendly strangers all over the country, they have been able to sustain a regular tour schedule. Lozen self-released one full length album (Eye to Eye) and one EP (Daddy Didn't Teach US No Shame) in 2006. Their first official release "Enemies Against Power" came out in Spring of 2007 with the help of Austin, TX based label Australian Cattle God Records and Bremerton, WA based label Violent Hippy Records. They're latest record "Oona" was released on 10" vinyl w/digital download on April 24th, 2009 with the help of Tacoma, WA based label Rural Wolf Records. Starbird Booking is currently setting up a Lozen/Sedan summer 2010 west coast tour. To be continued...

“Bashing drums, massively thick, de-tuned, mid-tempo guitar riffs and bass, and Evans’ hardcore-ish scream successfully sucks all the oxygen from the room.” -East Bay Express
