Description

kuma/koshka (Alexi and Blythe of Botticellis) - A folk project featuring Blythe Foster and Alexi Lesterjett of the Botticellis, with an equally lilting melodic sense and lyrical depth -- in fact, some kuma/koshka songs have been known to eventually grow up to become Botticellis songs!

Fake Your Own Death (Terry from elephone) - Fake your Own Death features Dave L, Keith E, and Terry A, the co-founder of SF stalwart indie-band elephone. The band cites as influences Let The Right One In, Blur, The Buzzcocks, The Pixies, Clap Your Hands And Say Yeah, The Cave Singers, Wolf Parade, PJ Harvey, The Kills, Love And Rockets, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Johnny Cash, Devo, The National, Big Ben Wallace, A Place To Bury Strangers, and Echo And The Bunnymen, among many many others.

TWO SHEDS - "Caitlin Gutenberger takes a folky, smartass approach to the sleepy murmur that Mazzy Star made famous. Think Mazzy Star on the back of a flat bed Chevy truck. Fantastic debut."- San Diego CityBeat

"Rickie Lee Jones-meets-Beck vocals put this indie-folk band in league with the best mellow homegrown groups; the effect is dreamy and captivating."- S.F Weekly

GRAND LAKE - Grand Lake is a bay-area free-rock trio featuring ex-Port O'Brien bassist/singer Caleb Nichols, avante-jazz improviser Jameson Swanagon (guitar, loop station) and drummer John Pomeroy. Combining elements of minimalism, space-rock, and a taste of the avante-garde, Grand Lake creates a unique sound - at times completely their own while also fitting in with contemporaries like Wilderness, Frog Eyes or even the Wrens.
