Description
Lyric Theatre of San Jose is proud to present Gilbert & Sullivan's rarely-performed operetta,"Utopia, Limited, or The Flowers of Progress". King Paramount, a monarch under constant threat of public explosion for any misstep, sends his daughter to England to be educated and she returns with six agents of social change – the Flowers of Progress – who all have plans to modernize and Anglicize the island nation of Utopia. But what happens when the Utopians out English the English, progress proceeds unimpeded, and this tropical island is incorporated as a Limited Liability Corporation? What could possibly go wrong?
