Description
Mapping parties are events where anyone can come and participate in the OpenStreetMap project. OpenStreetMap is a global, open source map that can be contributed, edited and used by anyone anywhere. It could be considered a wikipedia of maps. You can learn more about OpenStreetMap, and the amazing mapping projects being carried out, here: wiki.openstreetmap.orgMapping parties are social events where experienced and new mappers can meet to share and learn more about the project. The event is open to everyone, including open source enthusiasts, cyclists, GIS professionals, geocachers, and beyond. GPS units will be available for attendees to use throughout the day.
