About Future Farmer:
Dennis and I were raised in a small farm town in the Central San Joaquin Valley of California. In this part of the state it's the norm to wear Wranglers, raise sheep, and run your social life around the Future Farmers of America or 4-H events schedule. We were both on our way to becoming lowrider mini truck driving dairy employees; that is until we started skateboarding and listening to music other than Billy Squire. We now live in San Francisco where Dennis runs the label and I make skateboards. We think its a pretty good combination. Dennis, Soups and I started playing music together in 1996 here in San Francisco in a band called Joaquina. Our friends in Ranch 51 got us our first gig at a cowboy bar in the Valley, complete with a mechancial bucking bronco, formerly known as "Crazy Delberts". It was that night driving home that we realized that the music from the San Joaquin Valley was so driven, so isolated, so beautiful, and so unheard, that we had to do something about it.
